Dr. Solberg is a board-certified psychiatrist who completed her residency training in Psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she served as Chief Resident of Education. She earned her medical degree from UCLA, gaining extensive clinical experience across diverse settings, including Los Angeles County hospitals serving underserved populations, the Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center working with veterans, and both academic and community-based institutions such as UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Solberg further specialized her training by completing a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship through UCLA. During this time, she worked within both adult and juvenile justice systems, providing psychiatric care to incarcerated individuals with mental illness, as well as conducting forensic psychiatric evaluations and offering expert witness testimony.

Throughout her career, Dr. Solberg has been actively involved in research, with a focus on maternal depression, mental illness in underserved populations, and the psychological effects of solitary confinement on incarcerated individuals. She has authored numerous publications and has presented her work at national psychiatric conferences.

Her areas of expertise include child and adolescent psychiatry, community mental health, and forensic psychiatry. Dr. Solberg provides comprehensive medication management for children, adolescents, and adults, treating a wide range of conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety and panic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia, substance use disorders, binge eating disorder, gender dysphoria, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), among other neuropsychiatric conditions.

Dr. Solberg was among the first psychiatrists in Rhode Island to offer Spravato® (esketamine) treatment following its approval in March 2019 and has since helped many patients achieve remission from treatment-resistant depression. She is also one of the few Clozapine prescribers in the state.

She is committed to delivering highly individualized, patient-centered care, recognizing that each patient’s needs are unique. Dr. Solberg incorporates innovative tools such as GeneSight® pharmacogenomic testing to help guide personalized treatment decisions.

In addition, Dr. Solberg works closely with the LGBTQIA+ community and provides evaluations in support of gender-affirming surgical care.

Known for her empathetic and compassionate approach, Dr. Solberg is dedicated to working collaboratively with patients from all backgrounds to help them achieve their personal mental health goals.
